Low interest rates and high employment help house market
Figures from Nationwide in September 2017 show an annual house price growth of 2%. Support for demand is being helped by low interest rates and record employment says the building society.
House prices up despite uncertainty over Brexit
House prices bounced back in June despite uncertainty about Brexit negotiations. Prices were up 1.1% month on month wit the annual rate of growth up 3.1%, up from 2.1%. The figures were released by Nationwide on 28th June.
Mayor opens jewel in crown at Dorchester
Dorchester Mayor Cllr Susie Hosford did the honours and officially opened our flagship development at Stratton House in Dorchester at a ceremony on 17th June. She praised the quality of the development and the way in which many beautiful Georgian features have been retained. The last apartment has just been finished - measuring over 3000 square feet it even has its own wine cellar and is on the market for £750,000 with lots of interest in it already expressed. Two other flats are also on the market at £300,000 and both have parking.
House prices to rise by 6.5% this year
House prices in the UK are set to soar by 6.5% in 2017 says the Office for Budget Responsibility (9th March), up from the 4% rise forecast in November.
